Here is one thing for sure during the U.S. Open you will hear a the term “Kikuya Grass” a thousand time.  Kikuya will eventually weed out the week and have them exclaiming that “Kikuya will screw ya”.  Kikuya does sound kindof cool, but by Sunday I am about kikuya’d out. 

Here is something else I was wondering, has Tiger ever lost a Buick Open at Torrey Pines?  This is his tournament.  Tiger has more Buicks than half the “bluehairs” driving 20 mph, down the street at 9:00 in the morning. 

It’s going to be tough for Tiger, he hasn’t even walked 18 since the Masters.  I’d have to say the rest of the field has the advantage, everyone is watching Tiger and Phil, pressures off and they can quietly go about their business without all the media frenzy. 

It looks like the gallery is having a great time watching these guys.  I still am holding out hope for Adam Scott to place in the top 10.  I think Phil will play well, but choke somewhere.  I just don’t think he’s putting all that well and he can get into trouble with his drives.  But we can’t forget that this is where Phil’s backyard, he always plays ver well on the west coast.
