I noticed at the Cox Classic that the scores were outrageously low. And it wasn’t just a few guys scoring. There were a ton at -10 or better. I would say that if you didn’t score -10 or better that you might want to think about a career change. Is Champions Run a good enough course for a professional tour to play on?
Winners from previous tournaments averaged a score of about -10. The winner at the Price Cutter Charity Championship in Springfield Missouri had a winning score of -26. That was just a couple of weeks ago. Are the players improving as the season continues? Maybe.
I think Champions Run could stand to have a few more strategically placed trees and a few more bunkers. I think they do a great job on the rough. I just think that if they added a few more trees, it just seems pretty open.
What do you think? Is Champions Run “good enough” or do they need to make some adjustments to keep the tour here?
