Nebraska, Missouri Game Began a Historic Streak . . . Not That Kind Of Streak | HuskerVoice

November 3, 1962, Homecoming Saturday and Nebraska faced the Missouri Tigers. How did the Scarlet and Cream fair? Not good on that day, however they did begin a streak that can only be attributed to some of the best college football fans.

On that fateful day the Big Red lost to the Missouri Tigers, but it began a very long streak of sellout crowds that has endured many ups and downs and continues to this day. Nebraska was undefeated, under the direction of Bob Devaney and to get beat by the Tigers was an upset.

Nearly fifty years later the tables are turned and Nebraska is looking to upset the Tigers on Homecoming Day. Let’s just hope that the tables don’t turn too far and end the sellout streak that began during the game in ‘62. However I don’t think we will have anything to worry about losing the record streak of sellout crowds. It’s like me taking a swim in a public pool - it ain’t gonna happen! It’s a public bathtub, toilet and spittoon, it’s gross. How can anyone legitimately take a dip in the public pool and place their trust in some hung over college student that checks the chemicals and be ok? You aren’t. Don’t believe people when they claim that the chemicals kill all the germs. Really?!?! No thanks. It’s just not going to happen for this Husker Fan. And don’t believe people when they tell you to jump in, that it’s warm. It’s warm because 20 kids have just taken a leak in the pool! It’s one giant piss pool. No thanks.

Sorry, I’ve lost where I was at. Anyway, the sellout crowd won’t end, but will the Huskers end the Tigers road for a National Championship? North Championship? Big XII championship?

. . . Let Your Husker Voice be Heard!!
