Second Generation Husker Greats on “Track” for Nebraska | HuskerVoice

Former Husker Football greats still have a strong connection to Nebraska. Derek Brown, Curtis Cotton and Mickey Joseph all have kids that are showing some real athletic potential. Think of the potential these young athletes could possibly present for Nebraska Football. Even though these guys are in middle school, you’re never too young to start thinking about future schools for your collegiate career.

Derek and Curtis both have boys competing in the National Jr Olympic track and field competitions. Kenzo Cotton, seventh grader from LaVista, and Darian Trout-Brown, seventh grader from Lincoln, are both serious contenders looking to set records in the 100 meter.

Mickey Joseph has a son that is entering Millard West High School, looking to make a big impact for their football team. It will be interesting to see his development as a player.

Maybe the key to getting back to contending is to have the second generation of Husker Football greats i.e. Ty and Baker Steinkuhler, Bo and Barret Ruud, Terry Rodgers . . . ok maybe that’s where the daydream ends, but wouldn’t it be great if this little theory could come to fruition. Just think - Grant Wistrom, Trev Albert, Will Shields, Aaron Taylor, Tommie Frazier . . .

Anyway, it will be fun to watch these young kids develop as athletes, who knows maybe they will provide a little validity to my far fetched theory.

. . . Let Your Husker Voice be Heard!!

I wonder if Grant Wistrom, Trev Albert, Will Shields have any offspring ready to suit up?
