The Volleyball schedule came out yesterday and it looks like it’s one of the toughest, most exciting schedules.  I don’t know about you guys, but even if you proclaim yourself to be an avid football fan, the Volleyball team deserves to be taken a look at.  The Husker Volleyball team is quietly going about their business.  They have four returning starters and they are going to open their season against USC and Standford at the Qwest Center.  They have won three national titles, 1995, 2000 and 2006.  They are continually in the running for the national title and they are doing it in a somewhat archaic facility. After many long hours of trying to pick a winner, we are going to go with doombob’s, “He put the hurt stick on that one!”. We also found his idea of combining words lent itself to some endless possibilities. We may end up developing that idea right here at HuskerVoice.com. Here is one thing for sure during the U.S. Open you will hear a the term “Kikuya Grass” a thousand time.  Kikuya will eventually weed out the week and have them exclaiming that “Kikuya will screw ya”.  Kikuya does sound kindof cool, but by Sunday I am about kikuya’d out.  Read the rest of this entry »
