There are three phases to the Nebraska Baseball season.  There is the (1) regular season, (2) Big XII Conference and the (3) College World Series.  They did very well with their regular season (despite their last two weeks of the regular season) and they melted away in the Big XII tournament.  They have been on a downward spiral for the past three weeks.  Can they put it all behind them and bounce back? Bo Pelini has already made us proud with his speech on Monday night in Columbus, Nebraska.  He has Tom Osborne’s value system, but with a little extra pizzaz.  He is a little more animated in giving his speech than T.O. was during his tenure.  He holds your attention when he speaks and he tells it like it is.  Bo did not give us any false hope that we’re going to win the Big XII North and then the Big XII, etc.  He stated that he and his staff don’t even think that way.  Read the rest of this entry »

College GameDayBrian Christopherson of the Lincoln Journal Star wrote about three topics that may be viewed as obsessions, but he likes to look at it as conversation starters.  His third topic was about the announcers and analysts that comment on players, teams and games.  We (sports fans, Husker fans, myself included) can be a tad sensitive when it comes to someone that isn’t even close to the program try to prognasticate about the program as if he is an “expert” on our team.  Christopherson tries to reassure us that often we tend to over estimate how much the outsider hates the Huskers, but do the commentators really hate us? Bo Pelini and Tom OsborneRandy York’s N-Sider article about the Lettermen’s Wall with all the letter winners for Nebraska Football.  It was not surprising to read all of the accounts of people being deeply touched.  Specifically, the former players and even Tom Osborne was said to be affected by the moment.  This Wall invoked emotion much like many other memorials that signify greatness.
